About Piper Custom Gunsmithing

It all started in the mid-90's. I would stare for hours at the beautiful custom work in the gun rags. Being young, married and a new father, I had no way of affording the services shown. After some negative results with hiring general gunsmiths, I questioned why it never looked like what I saw in the magazines.

I decided to do it myself. A part at a time, bought on a credit card. I even bought a checkering file, and set to customizing my own 1911"s.

I found I had a talent for it. With a shake-up in my personal and job life, I took the opportunity to go to Colorado School of Trades. I learned a tremendous amount.

After leaving I went to work for one of the best gun stores in the area, continued my education, and soon got my FFL and hung up my shingle.

I continue to this day, researching, learning from my peers and refining my work.
